Hidden gems in Venice – Off the beaten track.

Hordes of tourists are flooding Venice each year but it still remains one of the most romantic and beautiful places in Europe. Venice seduces people and you will often hear first-time-visitors describe the city as “amazing”.

If I could live in one city and do every single thing I do there, I would choose Venice. You can’t turn your head without seeing something amazing. – Nile Rodgers.

The main tourist sites in Venice are some of the most touristy in the world. Just think about the millions of photos that have been taken at Piazza San Marco, The Campanile and Doge`s Palace. These places took my breath away when I first visited Venice, but surely there must be more.

I have been fortunate to have done quite a bit of travelling. By heart I am an adventurer and I love exploring new places, cultures and food. Travelling can become stressful and expensive. Over the years I have learnt to travel as cost effective as possible, simply by travelling more clever. 1. Venice is absolutely beautiful nelieta! It is very touristy and when I go there again, I would also like to explore the not so trouristy parts of the city. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Venice is in my top 10 list of most amazing places in the world. If “amazing” still has superlative, that’s Venice.. I’ve been to the city twice and there’s still tons I haven’t seen and experienced. Visiting it for a week won’t ever satisfy me, I need to live there.. and I know I won’t get tired of exploring it. Is that too much? 😉

    1. Hi Rachel, thank you for the visit. I loved Venice and sadly I only spend a miserable one day there. I would love to go back – for a week at least! LOL…I am not sure I want to live there but I would like to live close enough to be able to explore it on a regular basis!

Thank you for visiting. Have a fabulous day!
