The final resting place of Napoleon Bonaparte

Napoleon Bonaparte’s final resting place is in Les Invalides in Paris, France. Napoleon (1769-1821) was initially burried on Saint Helene but in1840 his remains was brought to the St. Jerome’s Chapel in Paris.

In 1861 he was moved to Les Invalides under the dome. The dome is beautiful and you can take a walk on the gallery and view the sarcophagus of Napoleon. The church is really beautiful and you can also visit the museum. The dome above the sarcophagus is stunning.

Les Invalides is also the burial site for some of Napoleon’s family and other military officers who served under him and other French military heroes.

Hours:

From Apr. 1st to June 14th, and from Sept. 16th to Sept. 30th : Monday – Saturday: 10:00 to 18:30.

From June 15th to Sept. 15th: every day, from 10:00 to 19:00.
