Buses that leaves to and from Frederic Chopin Airport.

There are 2 bus routes going to/from the airport: Route 175 and 188. (Luckily I kept my map)

Bus Route  175 makes the following stops:

ul. Żwirki i Wigury (Novotel Warsaw Airport) – ul. Raszyńska – pl. Zawiszy (Hotel Sobieski) – Al. Jerozolimskie (Holiday Inn, Marriott) – City Centre – Marszałkowska (Novotel Warsaw Centre) – ul. Świętokrzyska – Krakowskie Przedmieście (Hotel Europejski, Hotel Bristol, Sofitel Victoria).

This line takes you to the city center and it is passing some of the most popular hotels as well as the main train station. The train station is located in the “old town”.

Bus Route  188 makes the following stops:

ul. Żwirki i Wigury – ul. Wawelska – al. Armii Ludowej / Trasa Łazienkowska- M  -Politechnika.

This line goes to deep Praga Południe on the right bank, passing through to the south of the city center. This is a better choice if you just want to get to the metro.

Try to get a map at the airport or know exactly at which stop to get off. It can be quite stressful if you don’t know where to get off. The polish language makes it difficult too.

If you take a bus on route 175 then it should take you +- 30 minutes to get to the city centre or airport. Keep in mind that Warsaw is a huge city and in rush-hour traffic it will take longer. Allow for extra time if you need to catch a flight. Bad weather conditions also impacts on traffic and at times it can come to a standstill.

The bus is also the cheapest way to get to and from the airport. You buy the ticket before you board and then you need to validate it on board. They have validate machines on the bus.

If you want to make use of a taxi then you will find them at the aiport. Please be very careful of the taxi drivers. They do rip people off. We had a very bad experience with a taxi driver when we needed a ride from the train terminal to the old city. We ended up paying him almost 120 USD. He got very aggresive and abusive towards us. We had to make a stop at an ATM to draw the money.

There are also shuttles and rental cars available at the Airport.
