Travelling and my pillow

I have a serious issues where pillows are concerned. See, I like my own pillow. Many times I have seen travelers with a pillow tucked underneath their arms and I fully sympathize with them. The pillows at hotels and hostels are either too high, too big,too small or too thin. I like to bend my pillow and I cannot sleep if the pillow is too high and bulky.

Seriously, am I the only the one? Andrey never seems to have a problem because he likes to sleep with 2 pillows. I cannot! As a result of this, I suffer when we travel.

Today I want to tell you about the worst pillow that I have slept on. This was actually not the first time and I have seen it before in Argentina. In all my travels I have only found these pillows here in Argentina. The pillow is designed for a double bed and is a common pillow, which means I cannot bend or hog it. It is absolutely terrible.

Imagine after a long trip (We were driving for more than 16 hours) to find a pillow like this! Needless to say, I didn`t sleep much. Fn=inding a good pillow is like finding a good a senior housing software program, if you ask me!

Somebody left a small pillow here at the Hostel and I took it under my wing. It looks like a LAN (LAN Airlines) pillow but it works like a dream. It fits nicely into my hand luggage and it is ideal for travelling.

Strange Pillows
Have you ever seen anything like this?

“ No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.”

Lyn Yutang  (Chinese prolific writer and editor, 18951976)

Do you have pillow issues?

I have been fortunate to have done quite a bit of travelling over the last 10 years. By heart I am an adventurer and I love exploring new places, cultures and food. Travelling can become stressful and expensive. Over the years I have learnt to travel as cost effective as possible, simply by travelling more clever. Nelmitravel.com is a Adventure and Budget Travel site where I review Airlines, Accommodation, Transport, Restaurants and give helpful travel information.
