Harrie’s Pancakes in Dullstroom – The Best Pancakes.
We stopped at Harrie’s Pancakes on a recent visit to Dullstroom. I have heard a lot about the restaurant from friends, but this was my first visit. We were quite a large group and to my surprise, the waiter did not mix up any of our orders. That was definitely a plus in my book. The menu offers a large a variety of filled pancakes and caters for both meat lovers and vegetarians. If you have a sweet tooth, the menu will not disappoint.
There’s a little bit of goodness in there for everyone.
The restaurant opened in 1986 and have been serving delicious sweet and savoury pancakes for more than 30 years. Harrie’s pancakes is popular among local and international tourists. It took me a while to decide on my order but I eventually decided to try the Dutch bacon and cheese pancake. I loved the way it was presented and the pancake itself was delicious. Andrey tried the Bobotie pancake and local beer. They highly recommended the homemade Ginger beer. The pancakes are nice and fluffy and portions are large. They are filling!
Great atmosphere and vibe.
The restaurant is beautiful and cozy inside. The decor ties into the theme of the town. They have a large selection of wine and jam which is available for purchase as well as souvenirs. I love the fact that they support local artists. They have options to sit inside or outside.
A very pleasing experience all round and a place I definitely would visit again when in Dullstroom. A word of advice. The restaurant can get very busy especially on Sunday. Some people have complained that the service was slow. I suggest not to visit during rush hour on busy days.
