Wonderful pastries at Konigsbacker Coffee shop.
Friends recommended Konigsbacker Coffee shop to us when we arrived in Russia. They sell delicious pastries and great coffee. We saw many Konigsbacker shops in Kaliningrad but never went inside. One morning I decided to take a trip to Svetlogorsk and by the time I arrived, it was already time for lunch. Just around the corner from the train terminal, a Konigsbacker Coffee shop appeared and I decided to grab something to eat.
Fresh pastries and the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
The wonderful smell of freshly brewed coffee and pastries fill your nostrils when you enter the coffee shop. Already a long queue in front of me and I took my turn waiting. I preferred it this way because I could see how people in front of me do it. You see, I speak limited Russian and I wanted to order in Russian. I also wanted to pay with my debit card and needed a little time to see if it can be done.
To my surprise, it was very easy. By the time I made my way to the front, I knew what I wanted to order. The girl at the counter helped me and as soon as I uttered a couple of words in Russian, she knew I was not from here. I ordered and paid in no time.
Tasty and not very expensive.
I decided to soak up the sun and chose a place outside. I had a street view and it was nice sitting outside and watching the people go by. I think I ordered a Sloika but I cannot remember. As you can see from the photo, it looks delicious. Believe me, it was! The coffee, just the way I like it! Not too strong and with a lot of milk.
Another visit to Konigsbacker in Kaliningrad.
Afterwards, I told Andrey about my experience at Konigsbacker and we visited the one in Kaliningrad. There are a couple of Konigsbacker’s in the city. The first one we visited did not have coffee! We decided to visit another. This time we were in luck. Again, great service, nice atmosphere and the pastries and coffee delicious!
