Museo Bellas Artes Evita Cordoba – Argentina.
The Bellas Artes Evita Museum opened to the public in October 2007 and is one of my favourite museums in the city. It is housed in the beautiful Palacio Ferreyra building in Cordoba. This museum is different to other museums that I have visited over the years.
Not only do they have a magnificent art collection but they also have educational and recreational programs. Young and old come to enjoy the exhibitions, architectural designs and the beautiful park surrounding the Palace.
Cultural Heritage and Temporal Exhibitions.
You will not find any Rembrandt’s or Picasso’s in this museum. The collection focus on Cultural Heritage and temporal exhibitions. The aim of the museum is to develop new perspectives by combining photography and other forms of art, not just paintings and sculptures.
I thoroughly enjoyed the art in the museum but I must admit, I was not impressed with the modern art section. Modern art is not something that really appeals to me.
Inside the Museo Bellas Artes Evita.
The museum has 3 levels with different themes. Themes vary from Modern Age to the initial collection and sculptures. The museum has a modern feel to it and is not stuffy like some of the older museums. There are beautiful big windows and lots of natural light that comes into the rooms. The colour scheme contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I am still confused about the rule regarding photos. The man at reception said that I was allowed to take photos but without flash. When I took my first couple of photos, I was told photos were not allowed. On a subsequent visit I was told panoramic photos were allowed. In other words I could take a photo of the room but not of individual paintings or sculptures. I suggest you check with the museum personnel before you take photos.
Facilities at the Museo Bellas Artes Evita.
After you have visited the museum you can relax in the modern restaurant on the ground floor. Food and drinks can be purchased here. Restrooms are available and are clean. Admire the view from the balcony or take walk on palace grounds. The garden is lush and inviting especially in summer.

what a beautiful museum! I love museums and could spend days in one…
Hi Cath, dont you find that people are not going to museums anymore? So many people have told me it is boring. I find it incredibly interesting and I walk out of there and feel like I have actually learned something 🙂
