Nok Air Thailand Review and Customer Experience.
We had flown with Nok Air from Surat Thani Airport to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok recently. Nok Air is a budget or low-cost Airline that is flying to various destinations in Thailand. This was the second Thai Airline that we have used during our stay in Thailand and honestly I was not that impressed with their service.
The air staff was very friendly but the ground staff gave us a lot of hassles because our luggage in total (We were 5 people traveling in a group) were kg over weight. We all had onward International flights and we didn`t know that each passenger could only carry 5kg`s with them. Nok Air charges 200 Baht for every kg and my friends had to pay in an additional 1000 Baht. It was non-negotiable and in my opinion the ground staff could have been a little more friendlier.
Apart from the initial check-in problems we didn’t encounter any problems during the flight. We were flying with a bright pink ATR 72-200 airplane. I was curious about the bird logo and Googled it before I wrote this post. Nok is a Thai word for a small Sparrow.
They served a small snack on the airplane. Beverages needs to be paid for separately.
Booking cheap flights in Thailand.
The Airline makes ticket payment very easy especially if you don`t have a credit card or if you credit card is for some reason not working in Thailand. You can pay at any 7-Eleven Counter Service Plus in Thailand. They will also confirm your reservation at the counter and charges a 30 Baht service fee. You can also go to a bank in Thailand (Siam Commercial Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Bangkok Bank, Thai Military Bank and Kasikorn Bank) and make a direct transfer. They charge a service fee of 20 Baht per transaction.
Nelmitravel opinion: It is not a bad airline to fly with but I prefer flying with Thai Smile Airline. Some people might prefer to fly with Nok Air because they have been flying since 2004 whereas Thai Smile Airlines only started to operate late 2012.
