Galeão – Rio de Janeiro International Airport
We recently had two long layovers at Rio de Janeiro International Airport – Galeão – in Brazil. It was my first visit to this airport and I have to admit it is one of my favourite airports. Why? It is easy to navigate, has free Wi-Fi, water points and a not too expensive restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat. It is not a very big airport but the layout is great and the facilities that they offer are above standard for airports.
When travellers have long layovers at Airports they are looking for things to do. Free things because not all people can afford to go the VIP Room. To be able to use free Wi-Fi is a big plus in my book.
How to access the free Wi-Fi at Rio de Janeiro International Airport – Galeão?
To access the free Wi-Fi you need to have your ticket number or boarding pass available. The Internet connection is fast and it doesn`t log you out after a specific time. I especially enjoyed the electricity points that were situated in strategic points in the airport. It makes life so much easier.
RIO DE JANEIRO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Facilities
There are a couple of Duty Free shops and restrooms.
This is the second Brazilian airport that I have used and if I have to choose between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro I would much rather choose the latter.
