There are three distinct regions in Goa – North Goa, South Goa and Panjim and Old Goa. The most popular region is South Goa mainly because it is bigger, have the best beaches and is less populated.
Goa has a tropical climate and temperatures vary between 25 and 30 degrees centigrade from November to April. October and May temperatures go up to 40 degrees and is accompanied by high humidity. The heaviest rain fall is in July and the monsoon lasts from early June to late September.
exploring South Goa and Tourist Attractions
I have mentioned before that South Goa is the most popular region because of the long stretch sandy-white beaches from Mobor and Kavelosima to Kansaulima. The south of Goa is not only famous for it`s beaches and clear coastline but also has a historical background.
Here you will find a fading generation of the Lusso-Indian descendants. Portuguese is still spoken here and you can see the aristocrats mansions in the streets of Margoa. Here you will be able to experience the older Goa and often you will see farmers working orchards and farm land with their families. Many farms have been in the families for centuries.
If you love historical buildings and ruins then South Goa will not disappoint. Here you can see old churches, old Colonial houses and Mesolithic carvings at Pansaimol. Don`t forget to visit the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see resident tigers in the jungle.
