Hong Kong International Airport.
I was looking forward to visit one of the world`s largest airports – Hong Kong International Airport. I jokingly said to one of my friends that I am sure everything must be really clean and well-organized. It is indeed like that. This is a huge airport with more than 530 boarding gates! Not once did I get lost or had to ask for directions.
Travel tips for travelling to Hong Kong International Airport.
The airport has free Wi-Fi which is really great because you can stay in touch with friends and loved ones. There are computers available in designated areas if you don`t have a laptop or Wi-Fi on your phone. I also liked the USB ports and electricity plugs that they made available all over the airport. You have to accept the terms and conditions before you can use the free Wi-Fi service.
Water fountains are also strategically placed when you get thirsty. Toilets are clean and I liked the layout of the airport. The played really relaxing music which helped me relax after a stressful flight. They also provide entertainment areas for the younger travellers.
I was not very impressed with the Duty free area. Designer names like Armani, Dior, Marc Jacobs and many other famous names can be found here especially if you are into designer names. The only problem is that if don`t have a large wallet then shopping here is not a pleasure. I couldn`t even find cheap cosmetics like Maybeline. The electronics were also disappointing and not what I expected from a country like China. I have seen a wider variety in Dubai and the prices were better in Dubai.
There is a food court with many restaurants and the prices were reasonable. I had a delicious coffee at McCafe but I saw many restaurants that caters for all food lovers. The airport has ample seats with huge windows overlooking the airport.
In my opinion, not the best airport if you are looking to buy cheap things but if you are a traveller that are looking for the essentials then it is a great airport.
