The Rock Bar in Koh Samui.
While my friend Jenny and I were exploring the island of Koh Samui on scooters, we discovered the Rock Bar. Talk about a place where you can chill!
The Rock Bar is the ideal place to chill.
I first spotted the bar when I visited the Grandmother and Grandfather rock late one afternoon. From the rocks it looked like a tree house with a private beach. Reggae music was playing and it had a typical island feel to it. Bob Marley flags were hanging everywhere.
We poked our heads into one of the rooms and saw a tattoo parlor in the corner. Jenny was looking for a tattoo and went inside to get some information. I took the opportunity to “snoop” around.
The layout of the bar was so interesting. A group of people were sitting at one of the tables and when the camera flash went off they looked suspiciously at me. “Sorry”, I mumbled and walked on. Brightly coloured cushions were scattered on the floor and I could just imagine what a great time people must be having here. The roof was covered in bamboo and it gave the feeling of a tree house.
The bar has a small private beach with rasta flags waving in the wind. This place is totally secluded and in my opinion a little paradise. It is not hard to imagine people sitting here, getting trashed, smoking a joint and going for a cheap tattoo.
How to find the Bar?
Go down to Lamai beach to the Grandmother and Grandfather rocks. You will see the entrance of the bar close to the Grandfather rock.
