The house where Andrey`s mom lives originally didn`t have a bathroom or inside toilet. When we visited in 2008 she finally agreed to build an inside bathroom. Andrey was more than happy to do the work but it was a big job.
Anybody who has done renovations to an old house will know what work is involved. It is always a concern when you need to break through walls and not to accidently hit water pipes. Renovations is a tedious and dirty job but you also get to visit building shops and browse the aisles for the latest arrivals.
We were browsing for quality bathroom sinks in the many stores. It is always better to pay a little bit more and to buy something that will last you for a long time. There were all shapes and sizes to choose from. Some of the bathroom sinks were standing on pedestals, others were wall mounted and floor mount bath basins.
We eventually settled on a traditional pedestal bathroom sink and Mom liked it.
Last year when we visited Russia it was time to build an inside toilet. This was a much bigger job than the previous one because Andrey had to built everything from scratch. Luckily the job got done in time and Mom is happy with her inside toilet and bathroom.
