Blue Peter Hotel and Restaurant has the best view of Bloubergstrand.

When my sister told me she was taking me to a special place to eat lunch, I didn’t realize how special. Not only does the Blue Peter Hotel and Restaurant have excellent food but the view is one of the best. Situated in Bloubergstrand, it is a stone throw away from the beach. The setting is breathtaking with Table mountain and the sea in the background.

The Blue Peter Hotel was established more than 30 years ago and it is a great attraction for locals as well as foreigners because of its location. The restaurant is the ideal place to meet up with friends, have sundowners and enjoy the view.

Blue Peter Restaurant has a great vibe.

The Blue Peter is actually a Hotel but it has a very popular restaurant that can get very busy, especially around lunch-time. The outside seating area is very popular and people “fight” for a table outside. Sometimes they even wait on the lawn until a table is free. It can get a little chilly at night so make sure to bring something warm. Service can be a little slow, especially when the restaurant is packed. so be prepared to wait.

Excellent food, seagulls and blue skies.

The menu is varied and it was quite difficult to decide what we wanted to eat. Eventually we decided to order a pizza and meat basket. Service was great and we didn’t wait long for our food.  The food was delicious and the portions big.

The restaurant is open to the public and you don’t have to be a guest to eat there. Parking could be a problem as there is not a lot of space in the allocated parking area behind the restaurant. It take a little bit of manoeuvring to get in and out there over lunch time.

It is a bit of a drive from Cape Town but it is worth it. You cannot visit Cape Town without going to the Blue Peter Restaurant.
