Hotel Blue Bay review in Palma de Mallorca.
We found Hotel Blue Bay on Booking.com, when searching for accommodation in Palma de Mallorca. Hotel Blue Bay is located on a hill, in a quiet neighbourhood of Palma de Mallorca. It was our first visit to Palma and we did not know the neighbourhood or the island. It is a 12 minute walk from Cala Major Pelican Beach and 5 km from Marineland Mallorca.
Booking at Hotel Blue Bay and our experience.
One of the reasons why we booked at Blue Bay Hotel, was the promise of a view of the harbour and sea. We wanted a room with a balcony and a view. We received a good deal. Luckily for us, it was out of season and just before the high season started. Breakfast and dinner was included in the price.
Prices were low but non-refundable. We were not allowed to modify the booking or to cancel. They did in fact charge our credit card before arrival.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Hotel. Our room had a beautiful view and it was comfortable and clean. It basically had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Satellite TV and free Wi-Fi in all the rooms.
Staff were friendly and helpful. We rented a scooter and the staff at reception returned the keys and scooter when we left. They also phoned for a taxi to take us to the airport.
Facilities at the hotel.
To be honest, we did not use a lot of the facilities at the hotel. We mainly used the free parking, restaurants and the casual bar. Most of the times we were out, exploring Mallorca. The hotel does have an outdoor pool, kids playground, bar and restaurant.
I definitely recommend booking at Hotel Blue Bay. We will stay there again when in Palma de Mallorca. In the evenings we sat on the balcony and the view was incredibly beautiful. The food was fantastic and had a variety of dishes. We never stayed hungry.
Tip: Take a taxi straight from the airport. We made the mistake to take a local bus, which took us through the city and it took a really long time. When we departed we took a taxi straight from the hotel and it was a short journey and did not break the bank.
