Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok
On a recent trip to Thailand I was flying in and out of Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. It is often referred to as the Airport of Smiles and is located 25 km from Bangkok city center.
Suvarnabhumi a World Class Airport
This is a very modern International Airport where you will find all amenities that any world-class airport offer. If your flight arrives at Suvarnabhumi then you will find Currency Exchange,Banks,ATM`s,Information centers,Car Rental, Airport/Raillink and a Post Office just outside the arrivals area. There are also many restaurants and fast food places where you can grab something to eat. If you decided not to transfer into the city immediately then there is an option to book into the Airport Hotel.
Personally I found the airport very easy to navigate with Information kiosks situated in strategic places. Suvarnabhumi is a very busy airport and the 6th largest in Asia. Always allow for extra time when traveling to the airport. If you need to transfer to the other International airport in Bangkok, Don Mueang, then you will find a free bus just outside arrivals. For more information please read my blog here.
If you are flying out of Suvarnabhumi International Airport then you will find a baggage wrap service at the entrance of the airport. The duty-free area is huge and there are many places where you can sit, eat or shop. There is also free Wi-Fi in designated areas. It is a very clean airport and I loved the architecture. I sat down to admire the steel construction and unusual design. It added a nice touch to the airport and made you feel welcome.
This is definitely one of the nicest airports that I have visited.
