Historical Gates of Kolomenskoye.
There are two very important and historical gates at Kolomenskoye Estate: The Spassky Gates and The Front Gates. You enter Kolomenskoye through the Spassky gates but interestingly it is called the back gate.
The roof of the Spassky Gates is made from wood and has a unique design and almost looks like the shape of a leaf. As you can see from the photo below, the white stone walls are enormous. Many years ago this wall, and other walls, were partially stone and partially wooden. The gate was built-in 1673.
Several buildings are attached to the Front Gates: the Prikazniye Palace (Chancellery, the Colonel’s Chambers where chiefs of regiments that guarded the palace were housed), the Fryazhsky (or Dry Cellar), and the two-storey Sitny Court, where beverages for the table of the tsars were prepared.

There is so much to do and see at Kolomenskoye Estate and in my opinion don’t spend too much time here. These historical gates and white stone walls are beautiful but there are many more surprises lurking behind these gates like the wooden cabin of Peter the Great.
