Packing!

Sometimes a trip of a lifetime presents itself and you need to act very quickly. Isn’t it wonderful that travelling can be so unpredictable?  That happened to me on Monday morning. I was not expecting it at all!

For months I was preparing for a family visit in June. But due to unexpected circumstances it did not materialize. Last minute we decided that I will go to South Africa instead and use the opportunity to see family and friends. It was a wonderful idea but can we arrange for everything so quickly? Flights are fully booked because the World Cup Soccer kicks off on 10 June in South Africa! I just couldn’t find a suitable date to fly!  Eventually we settled on a date as the flights kept on changing. I will be in South Africa for 3 weeks!

I could not believe the support of family and friends that I have been getting. It seems that everything has been taken care off. Transport, accommodation and don’t forget the parties!! I have not been home for 2 years and 4 months and I miss all my family and friends! I am truly blessed. The wonderful thing about social networks? You find old friends! Through Facebook I have been in touch with many school friends whom I have not seen in ages. We are all excited to hook up!

Packing is an absolute nightmare! Luckily I found a place for plus size clothing as one of my friends wanted something from Argentina. Andrey told me to make a list but it seems I am touching everything only to leave it again! Is this normal? A friend emailed me and told me to check the vaccination requirements. Seems that I need a yellow fever injection. Oh my goodness! I eventually found my International Yellow Card and guess what? No yellow fever injection…now to find a hospital! It seems that the only hospital where I can get it is in Buenos Aires or Cordoba! As soon as I scratch something off my list, 10 new things appear. It feels like I am losing my mind!

I have decided to take the train from Cordoba to Buenos Aires. The reason? I am able to write a travel review! Seems I am getting more and more addicted to TravBuddy!

My suitcases are calling..time for some more packing!

I have been fortunate to have done quite a bit of travelling. By heart I am an adventurer and I love exploring new places, cultures and food. Travelling can become stressful and expensive. Over the years I have learnt to travel as cost effective as possible, simply by travelling more clever. Nelmitravel.com is a Adventure and Budget Travel site where I review Airlines, Accommodation, Transport, Restaurants and give helpful travel information.
