Lanseria International Airport Review

Check-in counters at Lanseria International Airport

Lanseria International Airport – Johannesburg, South Africa.

Lanseria International Airport is currently the only privately owned International Airport in South Africa. The airport is situated close to Randburg and Sandton and is ideal for business people, who are flying on a daily basis between Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. Local airlines flying these routes are Kulula and Mango but the airport is not limited to smaller airplanes. They do cater to Boeing 737’s as well.

During my visit to South Africa, I had a flight on Kulula to Lanseria Airport. This was a wise decision because traffic to O.R. Tambo International Airport is horrific early in the morning.

Lanseria International Airport Review.

I had a short layover at Lanseria Airport and didn’t use many of the above facilities. I loved the layout of the airport and navigation was easy. The pick-up area is a little complicated now with the renovations and construction of the parking area. I can highly recommend Lanseria Airport as an alternative to people traveling between Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

What do other travelers say about Lanseria International Airport?

Really pleasant and convenient airport. Minimal lines and pleasant staff. A really nice touch is the free coffee, tea and newspapers for all passengers in the departure lounge. I just wish that the runway was long enough to permit direct flights from the UK to land here.
